海子 面朝大海,春暖花开 translation: Facing the Sea, with Spring Blossom, by Hai Zi

This is a translation of the poem 面朝大海,春暖花开 (‘Facing the Sea, with Spring Blossom’) by the Chinese poet 海子 (Hai Zi).

The poem was written in January 1989, two months before 海子 committed suicide at the age of 25. Its title describes an ideal location for a home; overlooking the sea, and warm enough that flowers bloom in spring.
